![]() GUESS THAT IS WHAT CHRYSLER WANTS BEFORE THEY FIX THIS AWFUL TRANSMISSION.KILL SOMEONE.ĭriving home on a hot Summer afternoon from vacation with my pregnant wife. THE THOUGHT THAT THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY ITSELF BRINGING US TO ALMOST A STOP COULD HAVE BEEN SO DANGEROUS. THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED ONE WEE LATER ON THE SNOW COVERED AND ICY PASS. WHAT IS BAD IS THAT WE HAD JUST GONE OVER DONNER PASS. IN FACT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT IN PROCESS BECAUSE CHRYSLER KNEW OF THESE PROBLEMS PRIOR THAN SELLING THE 2014/2015 MODELS BY THE END OF NOV 2013 FROM WHAT I AM READING. IN FACT THEY ARE NOT CONFIRMING OR DENYING THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR CHRYSLER 845 RE TRANSMISSION ALTHOUGH MORE THAN A FEW REPORTED ON THE INTERNET. SERVICE REP COULD NOT CONFIRM IF PROBLEM FIXED. IT WAS REPLACED WITH THE EXACT SAME PART NUMBER. ![]() THE SERVICE REP CALLED THE NEXT MORNING INDICATING THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THEY NEEDED TO ORDER A NEW ONE TO REPLACE IT. NEXT MORNING, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL IN ANY GEAR. WE THEN TESTED THE SHIFTING AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE. WE WERE ABLE TO MOVE, BUT TRANSMISSION SLIPPED UNTIL REACHED 20 MPH AND RAN OK UNTIL WE WERE HOME ABOUT 1/2 MILE AWAY. PULLED OVER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON BUT NOT BLINKING SO IGNORED AS DEALERSHIP SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT NOT CRITICAL IF NOT BLINKING. WITH LESS THAN 32,000 MILES ON 2014 GRAND CHEROKEE, GETTING OFF FREEWAY ON SHARP TURN EXIT, THERE WAS A THUNK AND OUR BODIES LURCHED FORWARD AS VEHICLE DROPPED INTO 1ST GEAR. WE KEPT THINKING THAT WE ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE PADDLES TO DROP THE VEHICLE DOWN INTO FIRST, BUT NOW DON'T BELIEVE THAT WAS THE CASE.
